Structure: Lighter, stronger.
The X-Wing's structure is built for riders who demand efficiency and control. A refined geometry reduces drag, delivering a light and responsive feel, along with a significantly wider wind range in flight: from 10 to 40 knots depending on size (calculated for a 75 kg rider). The result is a wing that pulls efficiently and predictably. This gives you the confidence to push harder in powerful conditions.
High Aspect Ratio, Increased Control.
An increased aspect ratio extends the wing's operating range and improves high-speed performance. This geometry is perfect for intermediate to advanced riders. It offers superior control and greater peace of mind in strong wind. If you're seeking more power and speed, simply choose a larger size to benefit from the necessary thrust while enjoying the X-Wing's high efficiency.
Less Weight, More Efficiency.
Built with advanced materials, the X-Wing features a reduced Leading Edge diameter to save weight without compromising stiffness. This optimized structure offers better efficiency across the entire wind range. From 1.5 kg for the 2.5 m² to 2.3 kg for the 6.5 m², the wing remains light, with excellent handling, and easy to steer, limiting fatigue while maintaining high performance. The film layer seals the fabric and improves stability by preventing moisture infiltration.
Ultra-PE X-PLY: High Strength, Low Elongation.
At the heart of its construction, the Ultra-PE X-PLY reinforcement is a true standout feature. Ultra-PE (ultra-high tenacity polyethylene) fibers are significantly stronger and far less stretchy than traditional polyester. This means the kite holds its shape under pressure, even with sustained pull, and you get a consistent, connected feel no matter how strong the wind. If you snag it, the X-PLY mesh distributes the load and stops tears from spreading. The X-Wing is truly durable.
Canopy: Double Layout Design
The X-Wing's canopy handles high power loads with a stable, low-distortion sail. Crafted from high-performance Teijin D3 Technoforce material, it's precisely tuned to maintain its shape and tension under sustained loads. This delivers consistent traction, a wide wind range, and predictable handling. DLE 130 reinforcement panels further protect the canopy and boost the wing's longevity.
Cross Panel Sail (XPS) and Signal Pink Visibility
Inspired by performance sailing and innovated by Armstrong for wing design, the Cross Panel Sail (XPS) offers an exceptional feeling of connection with the wing while riding. By arranging the canopy panels at specific angles that optimize load distribution, this layout significantly reduces sail and structure distortion. For safety, reflective Signal Pink details ensure quick spotting, and transparent TPU windows offer excellent horizontal visibility.

FAQ
Do I need to buy a boom separately for the X-Wing Performance?
Yes, the X-Wing Performance is exclusively designed for use with a boom. Please note that the boom is not included with the wing. For sizing, choose S for 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 m², M for 4 / 4.5 m², and L for 5 / 5.5 / 6 / 6.5 m².
What's the difference between the X-Wing and the A-Wing XPS in the Armstrong range?
The X-Wing is positioned above the A-Wing XPS in the Armstrong range. It prioritizes responsiveness, progressive power, and increased lightness, with a higher aspect ratio geared towards high-speed control and upwind efficiency.
What rider level is the X-Wing Performance for?
The high-aspect ratio geometry of this wing is calibrated for intermediate to advanced riders. It provides more control and confidence in strong wind. Beginner wing foil riders will be more comfortable on an A-Wing XPS Mk II before transitioning to the X-Wing.
What size should I choose based on my local wind conditions?
For a reference rider (75 kg): the 6.5 m² covers a wind range of 10 to 18 knots, the 5 m² covers 14 to 26 knots, the 4 m² covers 18 to 34 knots, and the 2.5 m² covers 26 to 40 knots. The heavier you are, the more you should go up a size. If you are lighter, go down a size. For a complete quiver, two or three sizes will cover most sessions depending on your spot.
Can I try the X-Wing before buying?
Yes, our test center in Pornichet (Loire-Atlantique) allows you to try the X-Wing Performance by appointment. We also offer after-sales support and rider advice directly from France.
