Masts
The mast determines the flight height and overall stiffness. GlissEvolution in Pornichet offers aluminum and carbon wingfoil masts, from 60 to 90 cm, from F-ONE, Duotone, Armstrong, Sabfoil, and Slingshot.

Updated September 2026
The mast connects the board to the fuselage and transfers all your input to the foil. Its length determines your ride height and how forgiving the foil is, while its material sets the stiffness and weight. The mast is the part most riders upgrade after their first foil, either to move from flat water to swell or to gain more precision. At GlissEvolution, our shop in Pornichet since 2005, our team of riders will help you choose a mast that is compatible with your fuselage and board. This section is part of our wing foils, along with Front Wings, fuselage, stabilizer, and complete foils. To learn more, read our guide to choosing your wing foil.
What Mast Length?
70 to 75 cm: For learning, shallow water spots, and Pornichet beach at low tide. The foil is forgiving of trim mistakes, and falls are less of a drop. 80 to 85 cm: The all-round length, the one most riders keep the longest. It's high enough to clear chop and forgiving enough to progress on. 90 to 95 cm and up: For swell, downwind, freestyle, and experienced riders who want to carve hard without the board hitting the water. The available lengths for each model are listed on their product pages; for example, the Sabfoil Piantone Blackbird masts are available in 75, 85, and 110 cm.
Aluminum or carbon?
Aluminum is the choice for a first foil and for those who ride at rocky spots. The F-ONE Alu Mast, the Duotone Mast AL 3BS, or the Slingshot One-Lock Aluminum Mast handle impacts well and cost three to ten times less than a carbon one. They are heavier and flex a little at high speed, which you can feel when pumping. Carbon provides stiffness and lightness: Duotone Mast SLS 2.0 and Aero SLS, F-ONE Carbon Mast 16 and HM 14, Armstrong MK2 and Performance, Sabfoil Piantone Blackbird, and Slingshot One-Lock Carbon. High modulus versions (F-ONE UHM, Armstrong Performance-X, Slingshot Project Drag UHM) go even further on stiffness for riders who load the foil hard at speed and when pumping.
Mast, fuselage, and board compatibility
A mast only mounts to a fuselage of its own brand and system: Titan for F-ONE, 3BS and QM for Duotone, One-Lock for Slingshot, MK2 for Armstrong, and Blackbird for Sabfoil. Check your foil's generation before buying, as several brands have changed their interface in recent years. On the board side, the mast's top plate attaches to standard tracks on most boards; some require an adapter. The efoil accessories section has masts and adapters specific to electric-assist models.
Section, profile, and pumping
A thin, stiff mast has less drag in the water and better power delivery for pumping; a thicker mast is more forgiving and stronger. The Duotone Aero and Slim masts, the F-ONE HM and UHM, and the Armstrong Performance illustrate this search for a thinner profile, which is reserved for riders who already know how to fly.

Frequently Asked Questions
What mast length should you start with for wing foiling?
75 to 85 cm. Go shorter if your spot is shallow, or longer if you're already riding in swell.
Aluminum or Carbon Mast?
Aluminum for your first foil and for rocky spots. Carbon as soon as you start pumping and are looking for precision. The price gap is big, and so is the difference in ride feel.
Can I mount a mast from a different brand on my fuselage?
No, in most cases you can't. Each brand has its own interface. Give us your foil's brand and generation, and we'll check for you.
Does the mast fit all boards?
Yes, on boards with standard tracks. Some boards require an adapter; the product page will specify if so.
Where can I buy a foil mast?
At GlissEvolution, online or in our Pornichet shop, where we'll help you check compatibility.
