The Slingshot Project Drag BoardIt is a high-performance parawing, wing, and downwind board that stays locked under your feet during fast turns, touchdowns, and in the open ocean. Designed by Ken Adgate and Kyle Touhey for aggressive carving, messy touchdowns, and real ocean conditions, it releases cleanly from the water when you push the limits.
TESTS AND REVIEWS
Hadou Brunner (62 L) and Hydro Gav (72 L) judge it more forgiving on touchdowns than anything they have tested. It bounces and gets going again, with a recessed deck and limitless turns. The same reservation from both: the take-off requires pumping. This is not a board for progressing.

What we like
- Rounded bottom hull shape: The nose and front section quickly release from the water during touchdowns.
- Aggressive front rail edges: These reduce rail catches and let you redirect the board instead of getting stuck.
- Increased tail rocker: This prevents the tail from sticking, improves pumping, and enhances handling.
- Rocker aligned with the swell curve: Experience a more natural feel in these conditions.
- Tuttle box or carbon rails: Enjoy a direct, rigid, and low-drag connection between the board and the foil.
- Designed by riders: Ken Adgate and Kyle Touhey crafted this board for committed riding and real ocean conditions.

A board designed for committed riding.
Project Drag boards are for swell and wave riders. Created by Ken Adgate and Kyle Touhey for aggressive turns, messy touchdowns, and real ocean conditions, they remain stable when you push the limits. Featuring an exceptional rocker line, a rounded bottom hull shape, and aggressive rail edges, they release cleanly from the water and prevent any rail catch during turns. This board is built by riders who push boundaries, made to maintain control and speed when you're fully engaged.
Key shape characteristics.
The rounded hull shape allows the nose and front section to quickly take-off from the water during touchdowns. Aggressive front rail edges reduce rail catches and let the board reorient rather than stall. The increased tail rocker prevents the tail from sticking, frees up pumping, and improves handling. Finally, the rocker profile is aligned with the swell's curve for a more natural feel in these conditions. Rocker, rail geometry, and balanced design work together to prevent any undesirable behavior once on the foil.
Direct board / foil connection.
The Project Drag comes with two mounting systems. The integrated Tuttle box creates a direct, rigid, and low-drag connection between the board and the foil for increased control. The carbon track version also offers a rigid and direct link between the board and the foil for precise steering. In both cases, the board is a complete system with the mast and foil. This creates a more direct connection and confident behavior across different riding conditions.
Who is it for and what program?
The Project Drag is for you if you ride downwind or in the open ocean, if you want a board that recovers cleanly after touchdowns, and if you push speed and carving on the water. It covers downwind runs with parawing, wing freeride, and fast open ocean conditions. In terms of riding disciplines, it caters to a wide spectrum: beginner, freestyle, freeride, surf / prone, wave riding, and parawing.

FAQ
What sets the Project Drag boards apart?
These boards are for aggressive, hard turning, not just take-off. Every aspect of the shape maintains control and speed when you're fully engaged in a turn.
How do they perform during touchdowns?
The rounded hull shape and front rail edges allow the board to release quickly from the water, without sticking or catching.
Why is the tail rocker different?
The increased tail rocker prevents the tail from sticking during pumping and helps the board stay above the water in choppy conditions.
What type of riding are they designed for?
For parawing downwind runs, wing freeride, and high-speed open ocean conditions.
Track or Tuttle: Which foil box should you choose?
Your choice depends on the box type of your mast/foil. The Track version features carbon rails, while the Tuttle version has an integrated Tuttle box. Both options provide a rigid and direct connection between the board and the foil. If you're unsure about compatibility, please contact us for after-sales support.
