Sheet updated September 2026
The Mystic Sway Longarm Super Shorty 2/2 Fzip is Mystic's long-sleeved women's super shorty. It is made from 2mm Yamamoto 39 neoprene for temperate water sessions. With long sleeves and short legs, this cut protects your torso and arms from wind and sun. It leaves your legs free. It's the ideal choice for Atlantic summer days when a full wetsuit is too warm, but a swimsuit alone isn't enough once the wind picks up. Mystic uses Yamamoto 39, the most flexible neoprene in their catalog. It also has a frontzip and flatlock seams reinforced with internal junction taping.
KEY INFORMATION
MYSTIC SWAY LONGARM SUPER SHORTY 2/2 FZIP - Women's long-sleeved super shorty
What we like
- Yamamoto 39 Neoprene: This is Mystic's top-tier neoprene. It's incredibly elastic, lightweight, and features an SCS coated finish. It glides on easily, preventing it from sticking to wet skin.
- Long sleeves, short legs: Your torso and arms lose heat, not your calves. This cut covers what matters most. It gives you full freedom of movement for paddling or pumping.
- Frontzip: You can put it on and take it off by yourself, without fumbling for a cord in the back. A frontzip also lets in less water than a backzip.
- Smooth skin panels: The chest and back feature smooth neoprene. This surface cuts the wind. It prevents that chill when you exit the water.
- Flatlock seams and junction taping: The seams are flat, so you won't have any bulk under your harness. The junctions are also reinforced with internal tape.
- Natural sun protection: For a three-hour summer session, covered arms mean no need for sunscreen that washes off with the first dip. It also means no sunburned shoulders.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The missing link between a swimsuit and a full wetsuit
From June to September on the Atlantic coast, the water doesn't call for a full wetsuit. However, staying in a swimsuit for three hours with sea wind will eventually leave you cold. The long-sleeve super shorty perfectly fills this gap. It covers your torso and arms, where your body loses heat, and leaves your legs exposed so your session doesn't turn into a sauna. Wear it over your swim shorts.
The value of Yamamoto 39
Yamamoto is a Japanese limestone-based neoprene, renowned for its elasticity and lightness. The 39 is the reference Mystic reserves for its high-end models. The SCS coated finish adds a smooth coating. This makes it easier to put on and limits water absorption. On a garment this short, you'll especially feel the elasticity in the shoulders when paddling or sheeting in a kite.
Flatlock seams: what they imply
Flatlock seams are flat and flexible, with no extra thickness under a harness. On the other hand, they are not watertight; water passes slightly through the stitches. On a 2/2 mm summer wetsuit, this isn't a flaw; it's the normal choice. At this thickness, flexibility is key, not watertightness. Mystic adds internal junction taping at the junctions, where the stress is highest.
What size to choose
A super shorty should fit snugly. If it gapes at the chest, it won't block the wind and will ride up as soon as you raise your arms. The size guide on this page provides Mystic chest and waist measurements. We have M and L in stock, for chest circumferences of 87 to 93 cm and 92 to 99 cm respectively.

We have M and L in stock. The size guide on this page provides Mystic measurements. Make sure you choose a snug fit: a super shorty that's too loose will let wind in and ride up.
Yes, it's meant to be worn with swim shorts. The legs are uncovered, with the garment stopping high on the thigh.
Rinse your shorty with fresh water after every session. Then, dry it in the shade on a wide hanger. Never machine wash, tumble dry, or leave it in direct sunlight. Yamamoto neoprene is flexible but delicate, so avoid pulling on it with your fingernails when putting it on.
