Sheet updated September 2026
The Duotone Foil Spirit Back Wing 250 is the 250 cm² carbon stabilizer from the Spirit range. This back wing attaches to the end of your fuselage. It provides essential pitch stability to your foil setup. The Spirit range was originally sold under the North brand before transitioning to Duotone. Both names refer to the exact same foil, which is why you'll find both on the second-hand market. Duotone confirms this stabilizer is compatible with Spirit 2.0, 3.0, and SLS fuselages. This model is now end-of-life from the manufacturer.
KEY INFORMATION
DUOTONE FOIL SPIRIT BACK WING 250 - Carbon stabilizer for Spirit foils
What we like
- The Spirit range's sweet spot: At 250 cm², this is the larger size for Spirit stabilizers. It gives you more stability and rear lift than the 215.
- Carbon construction: Rigid and lightweight, carbon won't deform under load. It keeps your setup consistent from session to session.
- Compatible with the entire Spirit range: Duotone confirms this stabilizer works with Spirit 2.0, 3.0, and SLS fuselages.
- A rare spare part: This model is end-of-life from the manufacturer. Now's the time to secure a spare.
- Clearance pricing: Since this model is no longer manufactured, the displayed price is a clearance price. It is well below the original retail price.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
What is a stabilizer for?
The stabilizer, also known as the back wing, is the small wing attached to the rear of your fuselage. It works in opposition to the front wing. It prevents your foil from pitching up or down. A larger stabilizer makes your setup more stable and easier to maintain trim, though it comes at the cost of some speed and handling. A smaller stabilizer makes the foil livelier and faster, but it demands more precise steering.
The 250 size in the Spirit range
The Spirit range offered both 215 and 250 cm² stabilizers. The 250 is the more stable of the two. It makes it the ideal choice for wingfoil, surf foil, and downwind sessions when you prioritize comfort and sustained flights over pure speed. If you're unsure, the 250 is the safe bet.
Assembly and Compatibility
Your stabilizer screws onto the end of the fuselage. Duotone confirms this back wing is compatible with Spirit 2.0, 3.0, and SLS fuselages. The original screw set consists of two TX30 screws, 20 mm long. These are not included with this part, so if you haven't kept the ones from your old stabilizer, make sure to get them.
North or Duotone
The Spirit foil was initially launched under the North Kiteboarding brand before the brand was renamed Duotone. The equipment itself remained unchanged. A Spirit North back wing and a Spirit Duotone back wing of the same size are the exact same part. This is useful to know when you're looking for a second-hand replacement part.

FAQ - DUOTONE FOIL SPIRIT BACK WING 250
This is for riders who already own a Spirit foil and want to replace a broken stabilizer. It's also for those who want a second stabilizer to change their foil's behavior. This is not a complete foil; it is a part.
Duotone states it is compatible with Spirit 2.0, 3.0, and SLS fuselages. On a foil from another brand or another Duotone range, the screw spacing and support thickness do not match. If you are unsure, call us with your fuselage product code.
The 250 cm² back wing provides more stability and lift. The 215 cm² offers more speed and handling. For progression or sustained flight, choose the 250. For carving and speed, choose the 215.
No. The stabilizer is sold alone. The original screws are a set of two 20 mm TX30 screws.
