The Manera Magma Lobster Glove 5 mm is Manera's warmest three-compartment glove, built for kite and wing foil in the depths of winter. It shares the same cut as the 2.5 mm, but with double the thickness. Your thumb and index finger stay separate for gripping the bar, boom, or handles, while the other three fingers share a single compartment, warming each other. This is the glove for those brutal December to March sessions, when strong wind and cold water cut everything else short.

Why Three Compartments?
A five-finger glove exposes each finger to the cold separately. The Lobster construction groups your middle, ring, and pinky fingers. This allows them to warm each other. It keeps your thumb and index finger independent for precision. Manera designed this for riders who demand maximum thermal protection without sacrificing bar feel.
5 mm or 2.5 mm?
The 5 mm is for true winter conditions: cold water, strong wind, and long sessions. The 2.5 mm offers more ride feel and is perfect for autumn and spring. On the Atlantic coast, many riders have both and switch depending on the water temperature.

Measure your hand length from wrist to fingertip. Measure your palm width below the base of your fingers. Then refer to the size guide above. A glove that is too loose allows water to circulate, cooling your hand.
It does a bit more than a 2.5 mm glove because of its thickness. The separated thumb and index finger maintain a good grip on the bar or boom. For fine maneuvers, the 2.5 mm remains more precise.
