The ION Wing Board Leash Core Hybrid Ankle 2026 is a wing foil board leash that attaches to the ankle. It is compact thanks to its coiled cord and features a slim ankle cuff that opens quickly. The hybrid construction combines a 7 mm coiled urethane cord and a 6 mm Dyneema rope. It has extended flex connectors, swivels to prevent tangles, and a triple velcro rail saver. A coiled leash won't drag in the water or get caught on your foil. The Dyneema section adds extra strength. ION designed this as a compact leash that still provides the necessary slack when your session gets technical.

This leash features thin neoprene padding with a silicone print and a Hypalon exterior. You'll find swivels on the connections, extended flex connectors, and a triple velcro rail saver on the board side. It comes in lengths of 5'5-inch and 6'5-inch, in Black or Mustard.

The ankle leash is the simplest and most common attachment. If the leash bothers you during transitions, ION offers the same leash for the knee and a carabiner version for the waist.
Go with the 5'5-inch for shorter boards and the 6'5-inch for longer boards. A simple rule of thumb is to pick a leash that's roughly the same length as your board.
