The Element range is ION's entry-level wetsuit collection, perfect for those seeking a simple and durable wetsuit that is also flexible. ION incorporates several features from its more technical lines into the Element series. The ION Element 3/2 SS Back Zip women's wetsuit is the 3/2 mm back zip version for women. Its short sleeves and long legs make it the most covering summer wetsuit in the women's Element range.
Warmth and flexibility: Hot_Stuff 2.0 and Silk_Stuff
Two linings share the interior. Hot_Stuff 2.0, ION's soft thermal lining, covers the back and torso to protect against cold wind. Silk_Stuff, thin and silky, covers the chest, shoulders, and arms. This is where you need elasticity for paddling, and where the fullsuit slides over your skin when donning. According to ION, the material is 80% neoprene and 20% polyamide, and they replace some of the petroleum derivatives in their neoprene with limestone.
Entry, seams, and durability
The back zip, with its long pull tab, opens the wetsuit wide. This is the easiest entry, letting you put it on and take it off by yourself in the parking lot. ION calls it a double-sided easy entry. The chest remains a single piece, without a zip. The seams are glued and blind-stitched or Flatlock, with reinforced stress points in high-tension areas. The exterior nylon fabric features Supra_Tex protection. ION's Aqua-α glue is water-based and solvent-free.

FAQ - ION ELEMENT 3/2 SS BACK ZIP WOMEN
For the woman who rides in cool water during summer and wants a lightweight wetsuit. This suit covers the legs and frees the arms. This allows her to paddle and pump without restriction. For truly warm water, the Element 2/2 Shorty SS Back Zip is enough. Below 18 °C, the full 3/2 long-sleeve is better.
ION offers the women's summer Element in three cuts. All have a back zip and are 2 or 3 mm thick. The 3/2 SS Back Zip has long legs and short sleeves. The legs remain covered, and the arms are free. The 3/2 Overknee SS Back Zip stops below the knee. It is lighter on the legs and keeps the knees covered for boarding. The 2/2 Shorty SS Back Zip is the shortest and thinnest, for the warmest water. The cooler the water or the longer the session, the more coverage you need.
The ION size guide higher on the page provides the height and weight for each size, along with the chest circumference. The four sizes range from 34/XS to 40/L. A wetsuit should fit snugly when dry, without air creases. If you are between two sizes, call us.
Rinse it with fresh water after every session. Turn it inside out and dry it in the shade on a wide hanger. Never dry it in the sun or on a radiator. Never fold it wet in a bag. Close the back zip before hanging it, and rinse the zipper pull with the rest. Sand in a zip is what wears it out.
