Comfort as the core design principle
The Vario isn't aimed at competitive riders. Duotone designed it for those who want comfort and simplicity. It also provides reliable freeride performance. This lets you focus on your session, not your gear. It's a deliberate choice: handling and secure adjustment take priority over the extreme hold needed for unhooked freestyle.
The ergonomic footpad
This footpad absorbs shocks. It still gives you direct feedback from the board. It's a tricky balance for any pad: too soft, and you lose feel and control; too firm, and every bit of chop hammers your legs. This one dampens chop, smooths out turns, and cushions jump landings, all without masking what the hull shape is doing.
Continuous strap adjustment
This is the Vario's standout feature. While many systems offer fixed settings, the Vario provides stepless micro-adjustments. You can dial in the exact level of support you want, never too tight or too loose, and it's quick to do. A poorly adjusted strap is often the cause of foot pain after an hour, or why your foot slips out on landing.
The anti-slip surface
The grip works hand-in-hand with the strap. This anti-slip surface boosts traction and foot stability during sharp turns and transitions. It also helps with landings. Secure hold isn't just about how tight your straps are; good foot placement relies as much on the grip under your foot as it does on the pressure from above.
Two sizes
The Vario comes in XS/S and M-XL. Two sizes are plenty because the continuous adjustment handles most body size variations within each range. If you're on the cusp between sizes, a snugger fit with the smaller size is usually more comfortable than maxing out a larger one. Give us a call if you're unsure!

XS/S or M-XL. The continuous adjustment absorbs most variations within each range. If you are on the borderline, the smaller size, well-adjusted, is more comfortable than a larger size closed to the maximum. Call us.
Precision. A notched system forces you to choose between two positions, neither of which is correct. Continuous adjustment allows you to stop exactly at the desired point. This changes comfort during a long session and foot hold upon landing.
They mount on twintips with standard insert spacing. Send us your board's product code. We will check compatibility before you order.
Rinse with fresh water after each session, including the screw set. Then dry completely in the shade. Check screw tightness before each ride. They are the first to loosen on a set of pads.
