DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The CI Fish Deck.
Measuring 29.25 inches long by 9.75 inches wide, the deck features a fish tail shape and a 15.5-inch wheelbase. Its design, inspired by classic surfboards, delivers unparalleled handling and enhanced stability. The quality grip ensures superior control underfoot. Constructed from seven plies of maple, the deck remains true to the classic fish profile, a legacy from Channel Islands, one of California's historic Surf shapers.
The CX truck system in detail
The CX is Carver's innovative single-axis system. Its patented geometry positions an inverted kingpin at 90 degrees. This allows the hanger to pivot significantly more than a classic skate truck, and a precision pivot ensures immediate response when loaded. Carver likens the ride feel to that of a modern thruster surfboard: expect sharp turns, clean cut-backs, and fast, progressive riding. With fewer moving parts, it also requires less care than the C7 and matches the weight of a traditional truck. This makes it the ideal choice for shortboard surfers and riders who frequently hit the skatepark for transitions or aerials. The rear truck is a Carver C2 truck.
Original setup
Your board arrives fully assembled and ready to roll. It comes straight from the factory with 69mm 78a Roundhouse Concave wheels, Carver ABEC 7 bearings integrated directly into the wheels, two 3/16-inch Carver risers (that’s 3/8-inch total), and 1.25-inch Carver countersunk mounting hardware. Roundhouse wheels are Carver’s in-house line, specifically designed for surfskate. Their unique profile and urethane prioritize grip when loaded and a smooth roll over pure speed. There’s nothing to add or reassemble; just unbox it and hit the pavement.
CX or C7: which to choose?
CX trucks ensure optimal handling and fluid movement, closely mimicking the feel of Surf. This board lets you continue working on your stance for both carving and cruising, even when there are no waves. It comes complete and ready to use. Carver itself summarizes the choice between its two systems: the CX for a livelier rail engagement, and the C7 for a softer, more drawn-out Surf feel. This model is available with both setups. If you're unsure, give us a call: we'll guide you based on your riding style, usual terrain, and Surf practice.
